Interclub visits give Kiwanis members an opportunity to connect with other clubs, share ideas, and learn more about the work happening across the New England & Bermuda District.
Below are the guidelines for participating in interclub activities and qualifying for district recognition.
What Qualifies as an Interclub?
An interclub is an activity in which members participate in another Kiwanis club’s activities, attend a qualifying district event or convention, or take part in an approved Kiwanis Family engagement opportunity.
Qualifying activities may include:
Visiting another Kiwanis club.
Attending division or district events.
Participating in district conferences or conventions.
Attending approved Kiwanis Family activities, including Service Leadership Program meetings or events.
Unless otherwise specified, interclub activities must take place between October 1, and September 30 of the current service year.
Minimum Attendance Requirements
The number of members required for an official interclub is based on your club’s membership:
Clubs with 30 or fewer members: At least two (2) active members must attend.
Clubs with 31 or more members: At least three (3) active members must attend.
Club membership totals as of October 1 will be used to determine attendance requirements and participation calculations for the administrative year.
Members who hold active membership in both participating clubs may not be counted toward interclub participation totals.
Exception for Service Leadership Programs: Two (2) or more Kiwanis members attending a Service Leadership Program meeting or event counts as a qualifying interclub, regardless of club size.
Reporting Your Interclub Activities
All interclub activities must be reported through the official online monthly reporting system in Kiwanis Engage to receive credit.
Each report must include:
Date of the interclub activity.
Number of club members attending.
Name of the club, event, or organization visited.
Interclub participation will be determined using the information submitted through official district reporting.
Interclub Awards
The New England and Bermuda District recognizes clubs for their participation in interclub activities throughout the administrative/service year.
Awards will be presented at the Mid-Year Conference during the following service year.
1. Division Interclub Award
The Division Interclub Award recognizes Kiwanis clubs that complete at least five (5) qualifying interclub activities during the administrative year.
Qualifying activities may include visits to neighboring Kiwanis clubs, attendance at division or district events, district conferences or conventions, and approved Kiwanis Family activities.
Additional Requirement: Clubs that sponsor Service Leadership Programs must also complete at least one (1) qualifying interclub activity with each program they sponsor during the administrative year.
2. District Interclub Award
The District Interclub Award is presented to the Kiwanis club in each membership tier with the highest number of qualifying interclub activities during the administrative year.
To be eligible, clubs must complete at least five (5) qualifying interclub activities.
Membership Tiers
Merit Tier: 15 members or fewer
Honor Tier: 16–25 members
Excellence Tier: 26–40 members
Distinction Tier: 41–55 members
Legacy Tier: 56 or more members
Winners will be determined using official district interclub reporting submissions.
3. Kiwanis Family Award
The Kiwanis Family Award is presented to one (1) Kiwanis club in each state or territory that demonstrates the strongest overall engagement with Service Leadership Programs during the administrative year.
Consideration may include:
Attendance at Service Leadership Program meetings or events.
Mentorship and advisor support.
Collaborative service projects.
Support of youth leadership development.
Partnerships and engagement across the Kiwanis Family.
Special Qualification: Two (2) or more Kiwanis members attending a Service Leadership Program meeting or event counts as a qualifying interclub, regardless of club size.
4. District Fellowship Award
The District Fellowship Award is presented to the Kiwanis club with the highest cumulative member participation in qualifying interclub activities during the administrative year.
This award focuses on the total number of members participating across qualifying interclub activities, rather than the number of activities alone.
Winners will be determined using official district interclub reporting submissions.
